Meet Alba
The organising force behind metop
When Alba joined Metop a little over a year ago, she had already lived in three countries, learned five languages, and built a career around communication and structure. Today, she’s the person who keeps everything running smoothly. Between sales, after sales, production, and customers, she is a real multitasker and the bridge connecting people and process here at Metop.
Originally from Albania, Alba studied finance before moving to Germany, where she completed a degree in economics. There she worked for several large companies, gaining experience in communication and organisation. Skills that now serve her well at Metop.
A few years ago, she decided to move once more. This time to Sweden to be closer to the man that is now her husband. “I started learning Swedish,” she says with a smile. “It wasn’t easy at first, but I really liked the challenge.”
When Alba found Metop, her Swedish wasn’t perfect yet. She picks up languages easily but was still in the starting stage of her Swedish journey. When she applied for the job they told her that it didn’t’ matter that her Swedish skills weren’t that good yet and her interview ended up being held in Swedish, English and German.
Her job interview was a bit unconventional. “Linus gave me a fake customer message about a STH issue and asked me to respond,” she recalls. “He showed me how the gauge worked, gave me a spare parts list and asked me to reply to the customer. I communicated with the customer and solved the issue.” She laughs:
“That was my test,
and I got the job straight away!”
At Metop, Alba coordinates everything from customer orders and invoicing to making sure communication flows smoothly between departments. “I’m kind of the spider in the web,” she says. “I handle customer communication, prepare documentation, manage invoicing, check orders in our systems, and make sure production has all the information they need.”
She is the first point of contact here at Metop. If you are one of our customers or have called and emailed us in the past year, she is most likely the first person you talked to.
She also keeps track of open support cases, arranges shipments, and follows up with customers to make sure everything is resolved. “The best part of my job is definitely the customer contact,” she says. “I love talking to people from all over the world, in English, German, Swedish, and making sure they get the help they need.”
Alba recently helped represent Metop at Drinktec together with a large part of the Metop team and it was an experience she really enjoyed.
“It was amazing to meet so many people. I love telling people about how we produce everything right here in Malmö and seeing how impressed they get,” she says proudly.
Working at a small company like Metop also brings her closer to the action. “It’s great that we’re all so close,” she says. “If I need something from production, I can just walk over and ask. It’s not too formal, everyone helps each other and everyone knows eachother.”
Of course, the job comes with challenges too. “Sometimes unexpected things happen, and you have to find a quick solution,” Alba explains. “It’s about staying calm, planning, and keeping communication clear.”
When asked what she finds most fascinating about Metop’s work, she smiles: “Before I started here, I had no idea that there was such a thing as Quality Control for Cans! Now I love telling my friends about what we do and that our systems help big companies like Coca-Cola make sure their products are perfect.”
It’s clear that Alba brings both heart and structure to Metop, combining her love for people, languages, and problem-solving to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
